Words you will never hear from Courtenay – a natural problem-solver who doesn’t believe in bureaucracy. But rather, in ensuring clients are served exactly the way they wish.

Leading to something Courtenay did in fact say: “Knowing clients’ intricate preferences and executing on them is what I excel at. In a world where so much is beyond our control, she views the client experience – and our wealth itself – as exactly the opposite of that.

“I grew up feeling like money and finance was very abstract,” she relates. “That I would never understand it or control it, and whatever happens, happens. But across a 15-year corporate and hospitality career, I learned how much control we really do possess.”

So a fundamental part of her work is to ensure that Aretec clients feel wealthy. To again quote the Aretec brand foundation:

People are looking for a secure feeling about their money and life. We are in the business of giving you that feeling.

Courtenay lived in Vancouver until the age of 21, when she moved East to attend the University of Toronto. Married and the mother of a toddler, she loves travelling mostly for the purposes of wine. Especially to Old World vineyards in Italy and France.

She also enjoys tennis, reading biographies and watching the Leafs – which gives her the opportunity to commentate on their problems, to her husband, as if she’s an ex-NHLer.
